Radio and TV Director Assasinated in In Mogadishu

Unknown gunmen have attacked and shot two journalists in the center of Bakara Market, killing one of them and seriously injured the other.

Shabelle radio and TV Director Moqtar Mohamed Hirabe was shot several times in chest and head as he immediately dead at the scene, an eyewitness Told Horseed Media.

Ahmed Tajir, Program Editor was rushed to the hospital where he is in a critical condition.

Hirabe is the fifth Journalist to be killed in Mogadishu this year, and his is the third journalist of the Station to be targeted.

Some of the radio stations in Mogadishu stopped airing their programs for the sake of mourning.

Even Bosaso Broadcast Horseed Media has been airing the Holy Qur’aan for taking part the mourning time.

Herabe escaped an attack in which was killed Hornafrik radio Director Said Tahlil Ahmed earlier this year.

No side has claimed the responsibility of murdering journalists.
